On Friday, we went to the Scott County Fair. Nate did some bungee jumping, but our main purpose was to see the demolition derby. Nate started losing interest, so we left that early and went on a few rides before walking through the barns.

This past weekend was very hot. We spent a couple of hours at the beach with Abby and Emma. Nate has gotten confident in the water and is starting to demonstrate some swimming motions combined with floating on the water.

Friday night, we finally did it. It took a little bribing with ice cream, but we finally took off those training wheels. Nate was very proud of his accomplishment, as was his Dad. Nate has been so excited about his accomplishment that first thing every morning this weekend has been going for a ride.

This past weekend we were at a park by Grandpa and Grandma Cameron's. Although Nate had finally learned how to balance on two wheels, he has not yet gained the confidence to ride without his training wheels. But he has discovered how much fun it is to go down a hill. He ended up going down this hill about five times.

Nate's birthday was yesterday. The big 5. I had a party for him on Saturday. I had lots of help from Pam and Piper. Thirteen kids in all. It was a big group, but tough to choose between school and neighborhood friends. We had it at the community center. The kids enjoyed playing in the ball pit for an hour. Then cake and ice cream afterwards. Nate was exhausted by the end of the day. We had a family party at your parents house yesterday, the day of his birthday. My parents, Pam and Payton, Jaime Dion and Ely were there. That too was fun. But after presents, Nate was eager to go home and play with all of his new toys.
